Pay range: $18.00 to $20.59 per hour
Responsible To : Villas Manager
Summary of Job:
Responsible for assuring safe and compassionate delivery of health care and related services to residents in Taylor Villa during assigned shift.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate, memory care-focused and resident driven care to those residing in Taylor Villa.
- Inform Memory Care Coordinator or designee of any change in resident condition.
- Act as a liaison between residents and doctors in order to present residents’ needs to doctor for accurate care.
- Inform residents’ family of acute problems.
- Process medication and treatment orders from physician. Implement new orders in PCC and communicate to team in order to assure continuity of care and accurate records (within scope of practice).
- Keep Memory Coordinator or designee informed of any changes in residents and/or needs that require Magnolia Grove (MG) team or Physical Therapy Dept. evaluations. Follow through on necessary implementation (within scope of practice)
- Assist residents with medication and do treatments (within scope of practice).
- Actively participate in design and implementation of Taylor villa programming.
- Schedule medical appointments, lab work, hearing checks, hospital test or outpatient surgeries as necessary, arrange for transportation and communicate as needed.
- Complete admit/discharge/transfer documentation per policy.
- Report all incidents and accidents involving staff and/or residents to Memory Care Coordinator or designee with required documentation per policy.
- Monitor private duty staff and notify Memory Care Coordinator of an issues:
- Process inventory and communicate need to designed departments. Include Memory Care Coordinator or designee in all emails.
- Evaluate requests for housekeeping and repairs. Call departments for services as needed.
- Assist with house cleaning chores and cooking as needed
- Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings
- Practice safe work habits
- Order medications and medical supplies and assure both are property stored.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge and experience of working with geriatric population.
- Ability to work harmoniously with residents and staff and promote teamwork.
- Remain responsible and calm in an emergency situation, with ability to set priorities.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position.
- Possess a current CPR and first aid certificate.

- Complete RCFE training and Assigned training in Dementia. (Before working with residents)








Jay Labinger is a Gardens resident, he was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Jay received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Harvey Mudd College. He attended Harvard University where he earned a Ph.D. He was an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Notre Dame. His career has included positions with Occidental Research Corporation & Atlantic Richfield. He is the Administrator of Beckman Institute at the California Institute of Technology as well as a Faculty Associate in the Chemistry Department. He enjoys reading, playing the piano, tennis and traveling. He has published books on the history of chemistry, sociology of science and literature & science. Here at the Gardens, Jay is part of the Conservation & Sustainability Committee the Green Fund as well as many other groups through the Gardens Club.
Jane Hurd is a Gardens resident, she was born & raised in a small town in Arkansas. After she received her BA from the University of Arkansas she moved to California and taught seventh grade English in Porterville CA. After two years she moved to Los Angeles and worked for the Department of Health Services and pursued a master’s degree in public administration from USC. She served as CEO for two Los Angeles area hospitals. She continues to consult as an executive coach for CEOs of healthcare companies. She has served on several boards including Mutual of America Insurance Company, YMCA of Metropolitan LA, LA Visiting Nurses Association and Inland Empire Girl Scouts. Jane is an award-winning author and plays several musical instruments. Here at the Gardens, Jane is part of the newly formed Bequest Committee, as well as many other groups through the Gardens Club.
