Claremont Is Closer Than You Might Think

My life in Pasadena was full and I wouldn’t have changed it for a minute. I had it all: career, gorgeous home, masses of friends, a nonstop social life, and the most divine husband in the world. But after 40 years in beautiful Pasadena, life had changed. I had and my friends were getting older and Ada Gates become a widow, eventually retired, entertaining less. With all my family back East, I started to ask myself what was I going to do, especially after a few medical events that required recovery at home with home healthcare aids and no one to oversee them. Having been the caregiver for my husband for three years, I got a very up-close and personal look at aging at home. I started to think about and

want to be a burden on my family, and I’m tired of eating supper alone every night.” I felt exactly the same.  Though having no connections to Claremont, I decided to visit Mt. San Antonio Gardens and discovered a beautiful garden setting complete with walking paths and a dining room sparkling with conversations and interesting people. I was ready for a laughter shared among intelligent and  stimulating environment and health care I could count on. Mt. San Antonio Gardens’ Life Care contract makes planning for future health-care expenses manageable, which makes me feel safe and secure. I was concerned that Claremont was a bit far away and out of my

residents, the culinary talents of the chefs, daily exercise with my own personal trainer, and the kind, courteous and resourceful staff who always go out of their way to be of maximum service. And Claremont is a charming town. Far away? Hardly. I zip into Pasadena in no time. My decorators and the gardens staff helped me create a marvelous space filled with all the things I love and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. The best thing I ever did was marry Harry Patton. And the second-best thing I ever did was move to the Mt. San Antonio Gardens! For more information on Mt.
